Materials Chosen to Last
At The Brass Butterfly, every hanging Rooter propagation vase begins with carefully chosen materials and a hands-on process designed to create pieces that are both functional and lasting.
Our hangers are formed from strong 1/8-inch copper-coated steel rod. We chose this material because it creates a cleaner, stronger welded joint while offering the warm finish and simple lines that have become part of the Brass Butterfly style.
Each butterfly accent is made from solid brass and specially produced for Brass Butterfly. Every brass butterfly is carefully soldered onto the hanger by hand, creating a subtle handcrafted detail that makes each piece feel unique.
We also use hand-blown glass vases rather than machine-made glass. Because each vase is individually formed, the glass has a softer, more natural appearance without the machine marks often found in mass-produced glassware.
Every Rooter vase and accessory is handcrafted in our Vermont studio. Small variations in the glass, metalwork, and finish are part of what make each piece one of a kind.
From the first bend of the metal to the final assembly, our goal is to create simple botanical pieces that feel thoughtful, lasting, and beautiful in every space.
