Rooting Vase Instructions & Care Guide

Your new Brass Butterfly handmade hanging vase is designed to last a lifetime when properly cared for. Whether you prefer to use your favorite plants or share cuttings with friends and family, the possibilities are endless. You can create stunning displays with a variety of plants, flowers, herbs, air plants, or artificial silks.

When using your vase, it's essential to stick to plant cuttings only to avoid root rot. Many common houseplants root easily from cuttings. Here are some suggestions for plants that are easy to root:

BEGINNING THE PROCESS

For best results, we recommend using spring water and filling the glass vase approximately 2/3 full. Always use tepid water for optimal results. Select a cutting from your favorite plant, cutting 4 to 6 inches from the tip of the main stem or side branch just below a node (where leaf and stem meet). Remove all lower leaves and insert the cuttings into the neck of the vase. Once the plant roots reach about 1 inch long, you can choose to plant them in soil if desired.

FINDING THE RIGHT LOCATION

Hang your vase where it will receive indirect sunlight to inhibit the growth of algae. Most plants thrive in room temperatures of 60-75 degrees Fahrenheit, so avoid placing them in direct sunlight.

CARE AND CLEANING

Changing the water when it becomes cloudy will help prevent root rot and mineral deposits. To clean the glassware, fill the bulb halfway with water, add one drop of dishwashing liquid and ½ teaspoon of rice, cover the neck, and agitate. Use a mini bottle brush to clean hard-to-reach areas, rinse well, and refill.

CAUTION

Before use, rinse the vase thoroughly. Assemble with care to prevent breakage. Avoid forcing the vase onto the wire; instead, rotate it on and off using light pressure. Secure the vase and rotate for the desired presentation.
