Hanging Rooter Propagation Vase FAQs

If you're not sure whether a plant will root in your vase, just give it a try! Take a small clipping and put it in the vase and see what happens. 

We recommend using spring water or well water, your plants will benefit from the natural minerals. Well water from the tap can add aeration. Chlorinated tap water should not be used. There may be too much chlorine for the roots to survive.

It should take a few weeks to months for the water to need changing, in the meantime, just keep topping off the water. If you are not transplanting from your rooter vase, you should change the water when you notice it is getting dirty. The less direct sun the vase gets, the longer the water will stay clean.

Just about anywhere! Windows are a popular spot; this will provide the sunlight needed for your new roots to grow. Other popular spots are window casings, upper kitchen cabinets, and walls. 

If you need to clean your vase, put a small amount of dishwasher detergent in the glass, add water, shake and rinse. Gently using a small bottle brush will help clean out any sediment.

The frames of our plant vases are hand crafted. When the frames are welded it produces a reaction with the metal causing it to turn black. The black marks are a sure way to know your decorative Brass Butterfly hanger is handmade and is one of a kind. Please carefully inspect the pictures to see what is typical for black marks on the frames. Our powder coated and gold vein frames do not have any marks on the joints because the coating is put on after it is welded.

We do and do not recommend using our hooks or frames outdoors depending on the finish. Our copper coated finish should be used indoors because it will tarnish from being exposed to the weather. Our gold vein and powder coated hooks and frames can be used outdoors because the weather should not affect the finish.
